The 29 National AI Research Institutes in the U.S. represent one of the most ambitious investments in AI this country has made. Extraordinary research is happening within each one.

AIVO exists to help that research go further: a program-level hub that connects and convenes institute leaders, enables collaboration across university walls, amplifies breakthroughs to the policymakers and public who need to understand them, engages the public, and builds the shared infrastructure that multiplies what each Institute can accomplish on its own.

The institutes within AIVO work across many disciplines to do the heavy lifting that university-based research does well: laying the foundations for beneficial AI methods and applications in the future.
